How to crack a funded account
Most prop firm challenges are not lost on bad ideas. They are lost on one oversized trade on a bad day. Cracking a funded account means passing the firm's evaluation without ever touching its daily loss limit or max drawdown. Here is how, in six steps, and where FundedLot helps with each one.

The numbers that decide it
At 0.5% a trade, ten losses in a row still leave you inside the daily limit. At 3% a trade, two bad trades end the day.
Crack it like a process, not a gamble
Know the rulebook cold
Daily loss limit, max drawdown (static or trailing), profit target, minimum trading days, news and weekend rules, consistency rules. Most accounts fail on a rule the trader half-knew. Write your firm's numbers into your plan.
Size from the daily limit
Decide the size before the setup. One full stop should cost at most a quarter of the daily loss limit and a tenth of the max loss. On a 5% daily limit that is 0.5% to 1.25% a trade, rounded down.
Trade fewer, cleaner setups
Every setup needs an entry, a stop and targets before you click. Signals with entry, stop loss and three targets give you that structure; skip anything that does not fit your plan.
Practice the exact challenge first
Rehearse the same rules on virtual funds before you pay a fee. You learn where your limit breaks on a practice account instead of a $500 attempt.
Protect phase 2 and funded
Phase 2 has a smaller target and the same limits. Halve the urge to make it back fast. Funded accounts have no target at all, only limits and payouts.
Review every week
Count your rule breaks, revenge entries and oversized trades. A mentor who sees your plan and your trades catches the habit before the firm does.
Signals sized to your firm's rules
FundedLot gives you signals for forex, gold, indices and crypto with an entry, a stop loss and three targets. The app sizes each one for your account so a stop stays inside your firm's limits, a mentor 1:1 reviews your month, and you can practice the challenge free on virtual funds.
Every AI signal since 23 Oct 2026. Wins and losses, nothing removed. Past results never promise future ones.
Funded account questions
What does "crack a funded account" mean?
Passing a prop firm's evaluation (often two phases) so the firm gives you a funded account to trade under its rules, with a share of the profits. You crack it by hitting the profit target without breaking the daily loss limit, the max drawdown or any other rule.
What is the fastest way to pass a prop firm challenge?
There is no safe fast way. Most firms give you no time limit or a long one, so the fastest real route is not failing: risk 0.5% to 1% a trade, take only planned setups, and stop for the day after two losses. Rushing with big size is how most attempts end.
How much should I risk per trade on a funded challenge?
A common rule is one full stop at most a quarter of the daily loss limit. On a 5% daily limit that means up to 1.25% a trade; many traders use 0.5%. FundedLot caps your risk at a quarter of the daily limit and a tenth of the max loss, then rounds the lot size down.
Can trading signals help me pass?
Signals give you structure: where to enter, where you are wrong and where to take profit. They help when they are sized to your firm's rules and you only take the ones that fit your plan. No signal service can promise a pass, and past results never promise future ones.
Which prop firm is best to crack first?
Pick the program whose rules you can actually follow: a static drawdown is easier than a trailing one, no consistency rule is easier than a strict one, and a longer time limit removes pressure. Compare the daily limit, max loss, target and minimum days, then practice those exact numbers.
